Will it draw exactly what I describe?

It simplifies. Objects stay recognisable; ideas become visual metaphors. Best with a word or a short phrase with one clear subject, like “a grandmother knitting”, not detailed scenes or likenesses. Another take uses another drawing.

Why not just ask an AI image generator?

Inkword uses AI to read the word, then its own renderer draws it in a written house style, so a set matches. You get editable vector, not pixels, and it can animate. How it works.

What can I edit?

Move, resize, turn, recolour or delete any mark. Or open the SVG in any vector tool (Pro).

What counts as a drawing?

Each new drawing or another take uses one (two in Doodle). Replays, edits and exports are free.

Can I use the drawings in published work?

Yes, anywhere, free or paid, including client work. Just don’t resell the drawings themselves or use them to train AI. Terms.

Is anything trained on my drawings?

No. Only you see your drawings. Your word goes to OpenAI’s API (Anthropic’s if busy); neither trains on API data. Accounts are kept with Supabase. Privacy.

Why do I have to ask for access?

Every drawing costs real money to make, so the beta is opened by hand, a few people at a time. Leave your email and you will get a single message when your account is ready, with your 20 drawings already on it.

How it works

AI interprets your request and builds the shapes of the illustration. Inkword’s own renderer gives those shapes the marks and texture of the chosen style.
