Inkword is a small product made and run by one person, Sumit Bedi. By using it you agree to what is on this page. It is written to be read.

What Inkword is

You type a word. An AI model (from OpenAI, or Anthropic's Claude as a fallback) picks an idea and writes a small vector illustration, and your browser draws it. Inkword is young and still changing: features can change, and the service can occasionally break or pause.

Your account

One account per person, please. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to the email address or Google account you sign in with, because that is the only key.

Drawings, and what you may do with them

The illustrations you make are yours to use, on a free account or a paid one: in posts, decks, documents, newsletters, websites, client work, and products you sell, where the drawing is part of something larger.

What you may not do: sell or give away the drawings themselves as stock, templates, icon or illustration packs, or in any collection whose main value is the drawings; or use them to train or fine-tune AI models. Drawings a free account downloads from the app carry a small mark; please do not remove it. Pro exports are clean.

The sets in Inkword's free library are free for everyone and carry no mark. Use them in your own work, personal or commercial, on the same terms as above. Do not sell or pass on the sets themselves as a pack or download (send people to the library instead), and do not use them to train or fine-tune AI models.

Single drawings on the Drawings pages (inkword.app/draw) can be downloaded free as a PNG. Use them in your own work, personal or commercial, on the same terms as above; a credit to Inkword is welcome but not required. Do not resell them or offer them as a download elsewhere (link to the drawing's page instead), and do not use them to train or fine-tune AI models.

Illustration packs, on the Packs page, are ready-made sets of drawings bought once. A pack you buy is yours to use in your own work, personal or commercial, on the same terms as above. Do not resell, give away or repost the pack or its drawings as a pack or download, and do not use them to train or fine-tune AI models. Buying a pack does not change your plan: it is a download, not drawings or Pro. Because a pack is a download you get straight away, illustration packs are not refundable. If a file is missing or broken, write to hello@inkword.app and it is put right.

The drawings are made by an AI model. Inkword does not promise that a drawing is unique, that someone else will not get a similar one from the same word, or that it cannot resemble existing work. If it matters, check before you publish.

Inkword may show drawings made on the service as examples of what it does. If you would rather one of yours is not used that way, say so and it will not be.

Free and Pro

A free account gets a number of free drawings, shown in the app and on the pricing page, topped up monthly where the pricing page says so. Each new drawing or Redraw uses one (Big Heads uses two, Doodle uses two). A change you describe in words makes a new drawing and uses drawings too; the app shows the cost before you apply it, and some first changes are free. Replaying, recolouring, editing by hand and downloading use none. Free accounts download PNG, with a small mark.

Packs are paid once, with no subscription and nothing that renews. Drawings you buy do not expire. Buying a Starter, Creator or Studio drawing pack makes your account Pro for good: clean PNG, GIF, MP4 video, SVG and Lottie export, even after the drawings run out. Prices are on the pricing page and at checkout.

Inkword for Mac

Inkword for Mac is bought once and includes version 1 updates and permanent web Pro on the purchasing Inkword account. Your web drawings stay as they are. The free Mac download lets you try one sheet of up to 2 × 2 drawings before buying.

It requires macOS 14 or later and either Claude Code signed in with a Claude Pro or Max plan, or Codex signed in with a paid ChatGPT plan. There is no Inkword per-drawing charge; your Claude or ChatGPT plan's usage limits apply. Inkword is not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI. Mac purchases are non-refundable, except an accidental second payment for the same account, which we refund. If you were charged and cannot access your purchase, write to hello@inkword.app.

Payments and refunds

Checkout is handled by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record, which takes the payment, issues the receipt and handles tax.

If you have not used any drawings from a drawing pack (Starter, Creator or Studio), you can have a full refund within 14 days of buying it: write to hello@inkword.app from the address on the account. Once you have drawn with a pack, it is not refundable, except when something went wrong on our side (for example, you were charged and the drawings never arrived); then it is put right, by refund or by replacing the drawings. A refunded pack's drawings are removed. Your rights under the consumer law where you live are not affected.

A drawing that fails, is cut off, or comes back empty is not charged: its drawing is returned to you automatically. A drawing you stop before it finishes is returned too, five times a day; from the sixth you stop in a day (days start at midnight UTC), a stopped drawing counts as used.

What you agree not to do

• Use Inkword to make anything unlawful, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit, or to imitate a real brand or person in a way that misleads.
• Try to extract the prompts, style guides or reference material behind the drawings, or probe, overload or get around the limits of the service.
• Automate the service, share an account, or resell access.

The model may decline some words. Accounts that break these rules can be closed.

No warranty

Inkword is provided as it is. It may be unavailable, and drawings may be wrong, odd or not what you hoped for. To the extent the law allows, Inkword is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and its total liability to you is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending

You can stop at any time, and ask for your account to be deleted by writing to hello@inkword.app. Inkword can suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If Inkword ever shuts down, you will be told by email at least 30 days before, with time to download your drawings.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
