Free illustration libraries for websites and apps

The best-known free libraries are unDraw, Storyset, Open Peeps, Humaaans, Blush, DrawKit and Inkword's drawings. They differ most in three things: whether you must credit them, whether you get vector files free, and whether you can get a new drawing in the same style when the library doesn't have the one you need.

unDraw

Flat illustrations of people and tech scenes, recoloured to your brand colour before download.

Terms: Free for commercial use, no credit needed. Not to be bundled into packs or used to train AI.

Best for: A product or landing page that needs one consistent flat look fast.

Storyset (by Freepik)

Scene illustrations you can recolour and animate in the browser before download.

Terms: Free with credit to Storyset; a Flaticon Premium subscription removes the credit.

Best for: Animated scenes for a site or a deck, if a credit line is fine.

Open Peeps

Hand-drawn people by Pablo Stanley, built from mix-and-match parts, as SVG and PNG.

Terms: CC0: free for anything, no credit needed.

Best for: Sketchy, human characters you can pose yourself.

Humaaans

Mix-and-match flat people by Pablo Stanley.

Terms: CC0: free for commercial or personal use.

Best for: Diverse people in a clean flat style, assembled in a design tool.

Blush

Collections by many illustrators that you customise in the browser.

Terms: Personal and commercial use without credit; SVG needs a paid plan.

Best for: Choosing between many artists' styles in one place.

DrawKit

Illustration and icon sets, some free and some Pro.

Terms: Commercial use, no credit needed; no reselling, redistributing or AI training.

Best for: Polished themed sets for apps and marketing pages.

Inkword

300 simple ink drawings (dogs, cats, feelings, office life, AI, empty states, Indian food, Diwali), each a free 800 px PNG.

Terms: Free for personal or commercial work, credit kind but not required; not to be resold, offered as downloads elsewhere or used to train AI. Packs add SVG, transparent PNG, GIF and Lottie.

Best for: When you need a drawing the library doesn't have: type the word into Inkword and it draws it in the same style.

Which to pick

Question

Which free illustration library doesn't need attribution?
unDraw, Open Peeps, Humaaans, Blush, DrawKit and Inkword's free drawings can all be used without credit. Storyset's free use needs a credit line.
